<h2 class="title" style='font-size: 20px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: "Univers45",sans-serif;'>On Sunday morning 4,000 cyclists took part in the third edition of the Maserati Tour de Yorkshire Ride.</h2>

Sheffield, Tuesday 2nd May 2017

Amateur cyclists rode across 45km, 75km and 100km routes along many of the steep and winding roads that the third stage of the Tour de Yorkshire pro ride was competed on later that day, won by Team Dimension Data’s Belgian rider Serge Pauwels.

For a second year in a row, the participants were greeted with warm weather and dry roads in the surrounding Yorkshire countryside.

The race began in Fox Valley in Sheffield, and was arguably the most challenging edition yet. Riders were faced with their first significant climb within the opening 1.5km, before tackling a number of further demanding ascents throughout the route. The last 20km of the 100km long-route mixed steep hills and technical descents, as the course touched on the north-eastern edge of the Peak District.

Peter Denton, Region Manager Maserati North Europe, said: “We’re delighted to be involved with the Tour de Yorkshire Ride for a third consecutive year and we are already looking forward to welcoming riders to the 2018 edition in 12 months’ time. The Ride routes provided their own unique challenges this year but only added to the sense of achievement for every rider that crossed the finish line.”
