Hockenheim, 21 July 2024 – The Hockenheim circuit in Germany, which played host to round 4 of the Fanatec GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli, saw Philippe Prette come in second overall in Race 1 in his LP racing number 2 Maserati GT2, winning him the Am class. This was the best result over the weekend for the House of the Trident's cars, with Prette also taking third place in the Am class in Race 2, while both Alexandre Leroy, in the same class in the TFT Racing number 24, and Leonardo Gorini and Carlo Tamburini in Pro Am finished off the podium, in LP Racing's number 1 Maserati GT2.

Starting from an extraordinary pole position in Race 1, Philippe Prette had to give up the race lead in the first part, but he made an excellent recovery, partly thanks to a skilful pit stop. The LP Racing driver crossed the finish line in second place overall, meaning he could celebrate victory in the Am class, his fourth of the season. In Race 2, Prette started from the class pole, but was forced to return to the pits in the early laps, distancing himself from the battle for the top. The end of the race, however, partly due to the entry of the safety car that brought the group back together again, enabled the LP Racing driver to take third position in the Am class, propelling him back into the overall standings.

In the same class, Alexandre Leroy, who arrived in Germany as the leader in the standings, had to settle for a double fifth place, due to a 12-second penalty in Race 1 for too fast a pit stop and a contact in the final stages of Race 2 while he was battling for the lead.

Fourth place in the Pro Am class in Race 2 only partially redeemed a complicated weekend for Leonardo Gorini and Carlo Tamburini, which started in the qualifiers. The LP Racing drivers were forced to start twice from the back, but in Race 1 the comeback attempt ended in the first laps, after a contact that forced them to retire. They had better luck in a great recovery in the second race, started from the pit lane, which ended with Gorini and Tamburini crossing the finish line in seventh place overall, fourth in their class.

The next event in the Fanatec GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli, round 5 in this season, is scheduled to take place in Italy, at the Autodromo di Monza, from 20 to 22 September.
