The 2019 Maserati 100

Recognising one hundred innovative entrepreneurs
maserati-100-hero-fold

RECOGNISING BRITAIN’S INNOVATORS

Maserati is proud once again to partner with The Sunday Times to recognise one hundred game-changing entrepreneurs who are innovators in the business world. The Maserati 100 is now in its fifth year, and is dedicated to celebrating the positive impact entrepreneurs have on the economy and society as a whole.

This year, the theme is ‘innovators’ as Maserati celebrates 100 entrepreneurs who have contributed original thinking to their industry. Usually, managers equate innovation with creativity. But innovation is not creativity. Creativity is about coming up with the big idea. We are recognising entrepreneurs who have had a big idea and converted it into a successful business.

Maserati was founded over 100 years ago by the Maserati brothers who were entrepreneurs and innovators of their time. With humble, pioneering beginnings as a motorsport works, the family made a ground-breaking move in 1926 by acquiring Diatto’s racing materials including chassis, gearboxes and other components to create the very first Maserati car, the Tipo 26. The car quickly made its name on the Italian motor racing scene resulting in the brothers working non-stop to meet demand, producing a total of 43 Tipo 26 race cars.

Maserati’s founders, Alfieri Maserati and his brothers, were passionate about nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit. Maserati is pleased to continue celebrating entrepreneurship today with the fifth edition of the Maserati 100.
